WHAT WE'RE UP TO NOW

After the 2016 crop year, David and Barbara decided that it was time to slow down and re-group.  In the fall of 2016, Hurricane Matthew caused catastrophic damages to eastern North Carolina, and Godwin Produce Company's sweet potato crop sustained losses exceeding 75% (see pictures below).  Commodity prices were falling nationwide, and sweet potato prices were also at extremely low levels.  Major changes were inevitable, so the decision was made to quit growing our own sweet potatoes and to drastically decrease the size of the farming operation.

Now, with long-time employee, Greg Tart,  Godwin Produce Company, Inc.  have partnered with several local growers in our area to store their sweet potato crops.

We can serve as a primary or secondary storage and packing for your operation too!  With curing, conventional, and refrigerated storage for over 320,000 bushels, well-seasoned forklift operators, and a limited number of sweet potato bins, David and Greg are ready to assist you with all of your storage needs.

Call David direct at (919) 894-6964 if you are interested allowing us to serve you!!
